Renee K. Johnson, CPA and President
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Ms. Johnson graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Business Economics with emphasis in Accounting from University of California, Santa Barbara in 1986 with honors.
After graduating, Ms. Johnson worked in downtown Los Angeles for Peat Marwick (KPMG), where she specialized in auditing Fortune 500 companies in the banking, retail, and service industries.
While working at Peat Marwick, Ms. Johnson was licensed in 1987 after passing the CPA exam in the first sitting. Two years later, Ms. Johnson employed with Warner Bros. in P&L forecasting for their theatrical, TV, and merchandising divisions.
In 1989, Ms. Johnson started her own CPA practice based in West Los Angeles. By 1991, this practice became her full time job. Since its inception, RK Accountancy Group has grown to almost 500 clients. By providing expert client services, the firm has grown primarily through referrals.
Today, Mrs. Johnson resides in Calabasas with her husband who works in finance as a managing director of Marsh & McLennan. Mrs. Johnson’s older son holds his bachelor’s degree from Stanford, his MBA from Wharton, and currently works for Grammarly in NYC. Her younger son is a graduate of University of Washington Foster School of Business, currently works for Google, and is pursuing his pilot license. Her daughter is a graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York and Paris and currently works as a fashion designer for Retrofête in Manhattan. When not working, you’ll find Mrs. Johnson enjoying travel, wine tasting, and spending time with family and friends.
